9:00 - 12:00 | Morning Session | Sail Trim with Bill Gladstone
Improve your sailing performance as North U Director Bill Gladstone teaches trim technique for all points of sail. The class opens with a brief look at sail theory and then offers detailed trim technique to help optimize performance in light, moderate and heavy air. You’ll learn proper trim for speed, balance, comfort, and control; how optimum trim changes with sea state; and how best to respond to changing conditions. The class also covers reaching and running trim for gennakers, asymmetric and symmetric spinnakers, and Jib and Main sailing. We’ll also touch on at the use and trim of Code Sails. Bring your questions. Leave with better trim.

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM | Afternoon Session: Cruising and Seamanship with Lisa & Andy Batchelor of Kinetic Sailing
The exciting afternoon session teaches the most important skills for sailors to become advanced, independent cruisers. You will learn how to prepare yourself, your crew, and your boat to sail at night, and focus on navigation, steering, collision avoidance. Next the instructors will take the stress out of docking and close-quarter maneuvering as they break down the process and teach tips to help you handle your boat like a seasoned sailor. Lastly you will learn how to optimize the power systems, space and resources available on their boat. Maximizing cruising efficiency is a skill that will enable you to travel the world with confidence.
