If sailing the Chesapeake Bay is your dream, we are here to get you on the water.  SailTime Chesapeake Bay South is a certified American Sailing Association (ASA) School located at Morningstar Marina on Little Creek in Norfolk, VA.  We offer Sailing Made Easy on our Colgate 22’s to get you on the water fast with comprehensive hands-on training in a fun relaxing 2-day course.  Graduates of the ASA 101 qualify to rent our 22’ sailboats and put your new found skills to work.

Quick access to the Southern Chesapeake Bay with destinations like Mobjack and Cape Charles makes our advance courses a unique and enjoyable experience for your and your family.  Completing ASA 103 and then one on one training with a Captain qualifies you for membership on our 35’-41’ boats. Imaging sailing 6 or 7 times a month on the Bay without any of the work of maintaining a boat!

Learn to skipper a 20' - 27' sloop-rigged keelboat by day, in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Learn basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.

Learn to skipper a sloop-rigged auxiliary powered 25'-35' keelboat by day in moderate winds and sea conditions. Learn cruising sailboat terminology, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather, safety and seamanship.

Learn how to sail a sloop-rigged, auxiliary powered 30'-45' sailboat during a multi-day cruise upon inland/coastal waters in moderate/heavy winds and sea conditions.
