South Coast has the largest sailing fleet along the northern Gulf Coast with over 24 boats from 23′ to 45′ from various manufacturers like Colgate, Catalina, Beneteau, and Hunter, including both traditional mainsails, as well as, the more modern in-mast furling mainsails. In addition, the club participates in local and offshore races and regattas offering students the ability to practice sail trim, navigation, rules of the road, and much more!
South Coast Sailing School is an American Sailing Association certified sailing school with lessons available for every experience level. Our sailing courses and instructors give students the training and experience to achieve their dreams and participate in a nautical adventure. We’re one of the only sailing schools in the area that offer sailing certifications at many levels of the American Sailing Association curriculum, and we earned the ASA’s Outstanding School award in 2006. We provide sailing classes at every level, from basic keel boat to catamaran. South Coast Sailing Adventures strives to make each student’s experience the best possible. We focus on quality, not quantity. We feel that getting to know each student and their personal sailing goals builds lifelong friendships. We don’t want our relationship with our sailors to be “two ships that pass in the night”; we want to actively coach and guide our sailors on the steps they need to take to be safe and competent at all levels. South Coast Sailing will customize any of our programs to meet the specific needs of our sailors. Whether you desire sailing on the bay with family and friends, becoming a captain or instructor, or crossing the open blue in your own boat — we’ll give you the confidence and knowledge you need to accomplish your vision.

We joined Capt David for a great intro lesson to sailing. The Tranquility is a beautiful boat and we all had the chance to be hands on. I may be inspired to sign up for their sailing lessons now that I am hooked on sailing!

I have taken ASA 101, 103, and 104 with Captain Lucy's crew. They have always been very professional and instructional. I'm going back next weekend for the 114 course. I am confident that will also go well.
