Ozark Yacht Club (OYC) is conveniently located just off four-lane Highway 54 at the beautiful Lake Of The Ozarks, one of the most desirable recreation areas in the Mid-west, with 40,000 acres of water and 1,150 miles of breathtaking shoreline, uniquely suited to learning the sport of sailing … from basic aerodynamics to coastal cruising navigation and chartering.
OYC offers ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing, 103 Basic Coastal Cruising, and 104 Bareboat Cruising, along with private lessons for those who prefer a more intimate setting with an instructor.
Under the leadership of ASA-certified Chief Instructor Donald Ressel – a retired airline captain & flight instructor – our sailing school programs are based on the ASA’s guidelines leading to internationally recognized certifications for bareboat chartering of sailboats.
To help us keep the programs efficiently fast paced, our state-of-the-art briefing room, dining facility, lodging, pool and fitness house are all located at the water’s edge directly adjacent to the boat slips.
Our superb fleet of school boats range from the exhilarating 8′ Open Bic to the 12′ Catalina Expo, Sunfish and Butterfly, 14′ Laser, 16′ Melges MC Scow, 20′ VX One, 22′ Catalina, 24′ C&C, 25′ Catalina, 26′ S2-8.0, 34′ and 36′ Catalina, and OYC’s 39′ flagship C&C 115 racer/cruiser “Enzian“.
We have numerous villas for overnight stays during the course with beautiful Lakefront views. With 2 restaurants on-site including our award winning LakeSide Café you will be able to enjoy your sailing school experience without ever having to leave the club.
After completion of your school experience you will be welcomed to crew one of the boats during the racing season with the Ozark Sailing Club, which makes its home at Ozark Yacht Club
