Lighthouse Landing Sailing School has been helping people fulfill their dream of learning to sail for over twenty years. The school has been selected as an American Sailing Association School of the Year many times during our twenty-plus years of teaching. As an American Sailing Association Certified Facility, we are bound by a national standard of sailing instruction delivered by professional sailing trainers.
Lighthouse Landing Sailing School is located in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Our marina is nestled along the shores of beautiful Kentucky Lake, one of the nation’s premier sailing venues. The sailing season runs from April to November. We make your sailing education fun and easy through classroom and on-the-water training. In a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, you will be introduced to the theory of sailing from the very basics to more advanced and safety-oriented concepts. Our proven courses prepare you for ASA certification in Basic Keelboat and Basic Coastal Cruising. Practical Sailing is offered as a four-day, Basic Keelboat (101) and Basic Coastal Cruising (103) weekend course. Our class size is limited to 4 students.
Lighthouse Landing Sailing School teaches on the Colgate 26, the boat designed by the U. S. Naval Academy to use in their sail training program. After you have graduated from your sailing courses, our Colgate 26s and other sailboats are available for charter when you want to enjoy your new skills on the water.
In addition to our sailing school, Lighthouse Landing Resort & Marina offers 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom cottages for rent. We have seasonal and transient RV sites available as well as 4-seater and 6-seater golf carts for rent. Our “Village Between the Lakes”, Grand Rivers, Kentucky, offers wonderful dining, shopping, and sightseeing opportunities.
