Our mission statement highlights the fact we focus on customizing training programs to achieve your objectives and they are designed for you to learn as well as taking time to relax and enjoy our beautiful sub-tropical vacation destinations.
Gulf Coast Sailing and Cruising School is the sailing academy for Yachting Vacations, our sailboat charter and management service. As such, our students have access to learning on a wide variety of mono-hull and catamaran yachts that are sailing vacation equipped and maintained. We strongly believe that new sailors taking Basic Keelboat Sailing should learn on tiller boats and then move to mid-size cruisers for next level courses. We have a wide range of sailing vessels including Catalina 22s, midsize mono-hull cruisers, and large catamarans. All of our classes, with the exception of Basic Keelboat Sailing, are live aboard so that you can enjoy your time with us at our beautiful Burnt Store Marina base or other vacation destinations.
Our instructors have been teaching sailing at our school for many years. All have been recognized as Outstanding Instructors by the ASA and hold USCG Master credentials. More importantly, they are not just competent sailors with many miles of coastal and blue water sailing experience; they are fantastic teachers as evidenced by their consistently high ratings by our students’ surveys. We are proud of our instructor team and confident they will facilitate achieving your sailing objectives and ensure you have a pleasant and fun learning experience.
We would love to talk to you about your sailing goals and help you design your learning vacation.Contact us via the links provided on this site. We look forward to hearing from you.
