Horizon Yachting is a fully-fledged yachting company located in Cyprus, Mediterranean. ASA sailing instruction is at the centre of our activities, offering a wide range of courses from basic to advanced. Horizon Yachting is one of only few places in the region to take your ASA sailing education and probably the first one in Europe to offer advanced courses by the ASA.

Our vision at horizon yachting is to make learning to sail a safe and enjoyable activity available to everyone. We train sailors to a set of internationally recognized standards as defined by the American Sailing Association. Furthermore, at Horizon Yachting we promote the continuing education and development of sailors following qualification and we make yachting accessible to the average person, by means of flotilla cruising, offshore sailing trips to neighboring countries and ingenious boat share syndicates.

Why choose us:

Professional approach: Horizon Yachting is a professional company with people dedicated exclusively to the provision of first class sailing instruction and serving the yachting needs of its clients.

Customer care: At Horizon Yachting we make every effort to exceed our clients’ expectations. We take into consideration our clients individuality and previous experience and tailor our instruction and services to suit their needs.

Multi-faceted Yachting company: Our clients benefit from a full array of services including various levels of training by the American Sailing Association, short specialised courses, Yacht chartering and flotilla cruising as well as Yachting services to include amongst others management, maintenance, ownership options and consulting.

Excellent opportunities to accumulate sea-miles and experience: By organising several week-long chartering sailing trips and flotillas abroad every year, weekend trips around Cyprus, offshore trips to neighbouring countries as well as running a private cruising club, our students and clients get ample opportunity to get on the water to practice and enhance their experience.

Continuing education: By offering a wide range of courses by the American Sailing Association as well as a series of in-house short courses and targeted trips towards all-weather, off-shore and night cruising, there is always something more on offer for the discerning sailor!

Location: We are located in Cyprus, East Mediterranean. Our boats are based in Larnaca marina and our main office in the Cyprus capital Nicosia. Practical tuition is usually undertaken out of Larnaca marina, while theory classes are offered from our main office as well as in the marina premises. Upon request, we can arrange to run our courses from any other marina in the area.

Cyprus offers ideal conditions to learn sailing. There is sunshine over 300 days a year and from spring through autumn it very rarely rains. The ambient temperature is about 25-35C and the prevailing wind in the summer months is from the SW force 3-5. Considering the picturesque scenery, various blue flag beaches all over the island, long and rich history, culture and cuisine, extensive tourist infrastructure as well as some world-class water-sports and scuba diving, Cyprus is the ideal environment to take you sailing classes.

Instructors/boats

Our instructors are highly motivated professionals with substantial sailing, yachting and teaching experience. They are all yacht owners and their experience and expertise stretches well beyond sailing instruction to include all aspects of boat management and maintenance, running of boat share syndicates, flotilla organization as well as offshore passage making.

Our main instruction boats are 30ft and 42ft auxiliary powered, sloop rigged keel boats maintained to the highest standards. In the context of the various annual flotillas we organise, participants gain further experience on several sloop rigged sailing yachts 35-56ft and catamarans 36-45ft.
