ASA Certified Sailing School - Cruise Abaco, Bahamas

ASA Member Event: Flotilla in the Bahamas with Cruise Abaco

By: Charter, Destinations, Schools

ASA is delighted to offer special ASA Flotilla charters in conjunction with Cruise Abaco. These by the cabin charters will allow ASA Members to experience a bareboat charter experience while having the opportunity to obtain ASA sailing certifications.

If your bucket list does not include the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas there is a possibility that you will need to amend your list.  These picturesque islands span across 120 miles and are the sailing focal point for Bahamian waters. ASA school Cruise Abaco knows the area better than anyone and they are offering an opportunity for ASA Members to participate in a flotilla that explores these sailing grounds like a local.

Cruise Abaco offers a unique concept of “Captained by Day, Bareboat by Night” ® program which allows the Captain/Instructor to sail and instruct, stopping to snorkel a reef or visit a settlement and each night in a different location moored, anchored or docked, guest preference, leaving guests with privacy of the vessel to themselves. They have a dinghy with outboard to go ashore to a restaurant, beach comb, or explore on their own and the next day one of our chase boats delivers the Captain back to the vessel and off they go to another day of adventure and a different spot each night. Great way to get that “bareboat feel”.

This flotilla also allows ASA Members to join as bareboats for even more flexibility in the itinerary.  ASA members on the Abacos Islands Flotilla can boost their sailing certifications by taking courses while on vacation or simply enjoy each day as a sailing expedition.

Cruise Abaco is also offering a Gulf Stream Adventure Flotilla that takes you from Florida to the Abacos. This trip allows for ASA Members to acquire their ASA 105 & 106  certifications while making the journey over to the Bahamas from South Florida.

The Gulfstream adventure will offer all levels of ASA courses up to 106. We depart Port Canaveral on Oct. 31st. depending on the weather.  Passengers need to be flexible.  The journey may head straight down the coast and then across or down the coast to Ft. Pierce or West Palm Beach and then across to West End on Grand Bahama or run to Spanish Cay, from there we island-hop with final destination at our base at Great Abaco Beach Resort/ Boat Harbour marina.
