ASA and Youtube sailing celebs Sailing La Vagabonde launched a sweepstakes to challenge armchair sailors to a race against time on the ASA’s Sailing Challenge app. While just under 5000 sailors attempted the challenge on the sailing app only 1625 had qualifying times to be entered into the sweepstakes. Overall, the sailing Challenge app has been downloaded over 98,000 times.
John, who obtained his ASA 101 certification at Victoria Sailing School in Colorado is hoping to take his Dream Yacht Charter sailing vacation in the Caribbean and he will take advantage of their skippered charter option to have a captain on board for a few days to give him and his friends some insight into the sailing grounds where they will charter.
“Had I know how much I would love sailing I would have taken sailing lessons much earlier in life,” John mentioned how he came to sailing a bit later in life. He currently enjoys sailing on the lakes and reservoirs of Colorado. He always wanted to sail but put it off and he is glad that he finally took his certification courses. Now he will be on a sailing vacation courtesy of Dream Yacht Charter.
