Join fellow sailors cruising the beautiful Gulf Islands of British Columbia’s Salish Sea. This cruise offers a variety of excellent destinations to discover, including small island villages, remote marinas and idyllic anchorages. Planned stops include a welcome reception at Otter Bay on Pender Island, picturesque Thetis Island, the relaxed village of Ganges on Saltspring Island and a barbecue on Pelican Beach at Cypress Island. Weather is generally mild in June, with little rain, making these islands an ideal summer cruising ground.
The Gulf Islands, just off the northwest corner of Washington State, are a cruising paradise. These islands boast sheltered inland waters, magnificent marine parks, quiet villages and an abundance of welcoming marinas. Wildlife abounds on land and sea, with deer, bald eagles, sea otters, seals, sea lions and orca whales commonplace. Our sailing route will include overnights at anchor, moored or docked in marinas at small villages. Weather is good this time of year. This will be our 12th annual flotilla in the Pacific Northwest. Come sail with us!

Your Flotilla Leader
Roger Philips, an ASA certified sailing instructor and U.S. Coast Guard Captain, is a veteran of the local Salish Sea waters and has been leading these summer guided flotillas since 2008.
We depart Bellingham WA, clear into Canada at Bedwell Harbour on Pender Island, then on to a welcome reception at nearby Otter Bay. The next day it’s off sailing to scenic Thetis Island, which boasts the islands’ best ice cream! We’ll spend two nights exploring Ganges, the principal town of the Gulf Islands, with biking, hiking, fine restaurants and whale watching available there on Saltspring Island. After that we’ll sail to our anchorage in isolated Genoa Bay on Vancouver Island. Our last evening will be a farewell beach barbecue on the shores of Cypress Island in the San Juan Islands.
