American Sailing, a leading provider of sailing and racing education, is seeking a dynamic and organized Event Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless execution of our events, enhancing attendee experiences, and supporting our marketing and logistics efforts.
The Event Coordinator will be responsible for setting up venues, providing customer service to attendees, assisting in marketing efforts, and managing logistics for North U events. Additionally, the coordinator will support other events hosted by American Sailing and work closely with ASA-affiliated schools to set up and host North U events at these locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of event planning and execution, including venue setup, scheduling, and on-site management.
- Provide exceptional customer service to event attendees, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist in marketing events through various channels, including social media, email campaigns, and partnerships.
- Manage invoicing for participants.
- Plan events to stay within budget.
- Recruit instructors to assist in teaching on-the-water events and seminars Manage event logistics, including transportation, accommodations, equipment, and supplies.
- Collaborate with ASA-affiliated schools to set up and host North U events, ensuring alignment with school schedules and facilities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth event operations.
- Assist in the development and distribution of promotional materials and event communications.
- Support American Sailing events as needed, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of event details, budgets, and attendee information. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications
- Proven experience in event coordination, customer service, and marketing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sailing and racing experience a plus
- Proficiency in Google Suite and event management software.
- Flexibility to travel as required.
Working Conditions
The position is full-time, i.e. 40 hours per week. It is a remote position so you must have a reliable, quiet work environment, and be capable of working without close supervision. At a minimum, we expect team members to be available for in-sync work between 9am – 2pm Pacific Time, Mondays through Fridays.

American Sailing is seeking a talented individual to join our Marketing team and help us create and maintain an engaging and user-friendly online experience. The person in this role will be responsible for updating our website, online store, and learning platform, in addition to providing first-class technical support to website visitors and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Build responsive landing pages in WordPress using a page builder such as Cornerstone or Elementor.
- Collaborate with designers, marketing team, and CTO to ensure successful on-time project deliveries.
- Analyze and optimize the user experience including the sales conversion and online checkout process.
- Maintain WordPress/Themes/Plugins to ensure the best performance and user experience possible.
- Apply brand guide principles to all landing pages and website content.
- Provide concierge service answering questions from customers who have enrolled in online classes or seminars.
- Communicate professionally and enthusiastically with customers via phone/email to provide technical support.
SKILLS / Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience working with WordPress, WordPress themes, and WordPress plugins.
- Knowledge of responsive design and user experience principles.
- Fundamental HTML/CSS/JS skills and a basic understanding of SEO.
- Experience with Cornerstone, Elementor, Gravity Forms, LearnDash, ConstantContact, FileMaker, Teachable, Zoom, Zendesk, or Zapier would be advantageous.
- Experience with sailing and American Sailing Certifications is a plus but not required.

American Sailing is seeking a qualified, innovative, and organized Director of Educational Development. In this role, the Director of Educational Development will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other educational stakeholders to develop and oversee the creation of new textbooks, standards, exams, and study materials for our students. As a project manager for up to 10 projects simultaneously, the Director of Educational Development will also be responsible for fostering relationships with our authors, instructors, and school owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead curriculum development and ensure the quality of education programs in line with ASA standards.
- Manage relationships with SMEs, authors, instructors, and school owners.
- Oversee the development and implementation of standards and exams.
- Manage multiple education projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner and meet predefined standards.
- Oversee the schedule of the graphic designer to align with education program timelines.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Certification as an ASA sailor.
- Proven experience in educational development and curriculum creation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management.
Skills
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A deep understanding of sailing and experience as an ASA-certified sailor.
