American Sailing Week Antigua 2009

The American Sailing Week in Antigua was a great success!

“Last year I took a week of sailing lessons and became a member of the ASA. That was the grand total of my sailing experience. Sailing week in Antigua was my first time attending an ASA function and I was not sure what to expect as I was traveling alone and did not know anyone. Before I had even arrived in Antigua I had met a few people on the airplane. This wonderful couple, Jim and Dee offered me a ride to the resort in the car they had rented so that I wouldn't have to take a cab. The resort was beautiful and the staff made you feel welcome. I had come to Antigua for the keel boat sailing and to try a catamaran, and I think I got more than my fair share of both. The Captains on the various boats answered every question I had and offered tips to help me improve. What I liked the best about the sailing was that it felt like I was out there with old friends even though I had just met these people. I am grateful for all the new friends I made and I am sure I will be keeping in touch with them. Before Sailing Week in Antigua I was interested in sailing, now I am hooked. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.”
